There is more to online business than meets the eye. More than just your website, blogging has now become an essential part of the package. It has become a must, primarily due to how it helps your business website. Business blogging is like your secondary website wherein the primary goal is to present your business in a personal level, thereby creating a community for your business. Business blogs have become a useful tool to aid on advertising efforts, gain web traffic, garner sales and employ marketing campaigns. Although it seems easy, it’s not that easy, that’s why I came up with this Blogging for Dummies guideline.
Here are some of the things that you need to do:
1. Get your own domain and personalize it in accordance with your website.
There are free blogging platforms such as wordpress, blogspot and the like. However, it is essential that you get your own domain in order for you to maintain that professional sense and not be mistaken to be a hobby blogger. In addition, having your own domain creates branding for you and gets you name recall. In terms of personalizing your blogsite, have your themes correspond with your website. This way, they can connect your blog to your website and remember you better. Plus, this adds to the professionalism that you want to have.
2. Provide Real or Relevant Content
The main goal of your blog is to create a community of readers or followers. So, keep your content relevant to your business and keep it updated so that they know that you constantly put something new which will make them regularly check for your posts. Having regularly relevant content will also garner you some recommendations to your viewers’ own social circle which will make your community grow. In addition, by providing useful and relevant content, you will gain credibility and their trust.
3. Link your Ad Campaigns to your Blog
Linking ad materials, especially article marketing campaigns, to your blog is very important and useful. When you submit articles to directories, they usually do not like links leading to the affiliate page right away. So, you blog is your filter or gateway. Linking your ads to your blog will drive in traffic to your blog, grow your community which will lead to higher page rank which will lead to your website gaining ground through web traffic and higher page ranks. In addition, linking your ads to your blog will not just provide you with quality back links but will also gain your good rapport with your readers.
4. Link Your Blog to your Main Business Page
Once people reach your business blog, they would probably look for links. This is your chance to bring them into your main website. If your content is interesting enough (and since they probably searched for this particular keyword they used to reach your blog), you can now lead them to your main website by adding your website link within the blog content. You can also have banner ads of your site within that blog. They are most likely interested to buy something that you can provide and since they already trust you, they most likely will.
5. Avoid selling anything in your blog!
Your blog is your gateway to bringing people to your website to bring in sales. However, you must remember that your blog is there to create a community that trusts you so all you can do is lead them to where they can get these things that they are looking for but you must be conscious of how you do this. You can’t be too sale pitchy in your blog because they might just stop reading and leave. Your blog is there to create relationships that will hopefully turn into sales. Leave the hard core sales pitching to your site.
Blogging can be easy if you follow these blogging for dummies guidelines. Start building your business blog today and you’ll see the difference it makes.
